
Renée Holzmeier
Renée Holzmeier has performed in off-Broadway productions, premiered new works at The Freedom Center, brought opera to new audiences in collaboration with Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe in Manhattan, lent her voice to recordings, and performed with jazz ensembles throughout NYC.
A graduate of Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music, Renée received her BM in Voice Performance and continued her training with Opera Theatre of Lucca (Italy), Moores School of Music (Houston), Pocket Opera of NY, Opera Programs Berlin and Baldwin Wallace Conservatory - The LoVetri Institute. She was awarded for “Excellence in Musicianship and Leadership” while at Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music and performed the roles of Violet in Ned Rorem’s A Childhood Miracle, La Tasse Chinoise in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortileges, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Mrs. Squires in The Music Man and was the mezzo soloist in the regional premier of The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass.
As an educator, Renée has received Level III certification in Somatic Voicework with The LoVetri Institute (Baldwin Wallace Conservatory) with an emphasis on musical theatre and contemporary/commercial styles, and has studied voice pedagogy with Kenneth Shaw (CCM), Kenneth Bozeman and Amanda Flynn (Belt/Mix styles).
This fall, Renée will begin her training with NYU (Certificate in Vocology) and will continue her training with The University of Essex, Voice Study Centre (MA in Voice Pedagogy). She is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and The Voice Foundation.
With a supportive, individualized and encouraging approach, Renée focuses on confidence building and sustainable technique, while helping students to embrace and celebrate their beautifully unique voice and artistry! Her students are performing professionally and pre-professionally throughout the country, including in National Broadway Tours, Regional and Community Theatre productions, in professional and competitive ensembles/choirs, and have signed with national talent agencies. Most importantly, her students are finding joy, freedom, confidence and ease of singing!
Renée has also gained invaluable experience behind the scenes, working for a television network, a celebrity chef, booking talent for events and working as a voiceover artist. She draws upon all of her experiences to help students navigate a career in the performing arts.
